Dr. Wymore is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, with an emphasis on knee and shoulder arthroscopy. He attended the University of Notre Dame where he was a member of the varsity swimming team, earning Monogram Awards. Upon graduation from Texas A&M Medical School, he completed his residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. While there, he provided care for the Tar Heel varsity sports teams. He then completed a fellowship in sports medicine in San Diego, California, including care of the San Diego Padres baseball club and the San Diego State Aztecs. He joined Southern Maryland Orthopedic and Sports Medicine in 2014.
Dr. Wymore’s area of expertise includes Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, ACL Reconstruction, ACL failure Revisions, Complex Knee Injuries, Articular Cartilage Reconstruction, Tommy John’s Surgery, Shoulder Instability and Rotator Cuff Disease.
He has written multiple peer reviewed articles and textbook chapters. He is a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society.
Dr. Wymore and his wife live in California. To remain involved in the community, Dr. Wymore serves as head team orthopedist for St. Mary’s Ryken High School, as well as serving as a consultant for St. Mary’s and Charles County High Schools. Outside hobbies include swimming, weight lifting, surfing, and Notre Dame football.
