Dr. Michael Travis joined Southern MD Orthopaedics in 1997. He received his Bachelors Degree from Notre Dame and went on to continue his medical training at the University of Tennessee. He completed his internship and residency with the U.S. Army and his fellowship at Walter Reed in hand and upper extremity surgery.
Dr. Travis is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, The American Society for the Surgery of Hands, and the American College of Surgeons. He has certificates of added qualifications in surgery of the hand and sports medicine. Dr. Travis' practice is limited to hand and upper extremity, and sports medicine.
Dr. Travis was a collegiate soccer player and swimmer. He is currently active in youth sports and coaches travel soccer. In his free time he likes to hunt, fish and bicycle.
